Become a Props Master

In a film or drama, there are many things that a Character in the story handle.
These are anything from a briefcase, a meal, a drink, the car they drive, the book they are reading, the laptop they are using, the cellphone, the documents they are working on in their office, and so forth.
All these things are PROPS, and it takes quite a bit of developed skill to get, manage and delegate these on the shoot.
The Props Master is second in the hierarchy of the Art Department after the Art Director.

Camera Assistant

The camera department handles very expensive and delicate equipment. It is also the department that must ensure that the camera’s are in good order, batteries charged and memory cards correctly recorded on and transferred to the Data Wrangler. The Camera Assistant plays a crucial role in the prepping and maintaining of all the camera gear, so it is very good to learn all the ins and outs of this position before taking on this job.

Production Manger and Production Coordinator

In the Production Office there are very important crew members to ensure the constant flow of the shooting schedule. The Production Coodinator has a long list of essential duties that include compiling the shoot Call Sheet, coordinating all the various actor calls, pick ups and drop offs and so forth. Most productions operate under great pressure from the word go, so the better you are equipped to handle all these factors, the more successful you will be. Wardrobe Standby and Wardrobe Assistant

On a filming set, the actor’s costume’s need to be looked after the Standby Wardrobe person. From ensuring that the correct costume is on the actor to keeping the continuity in a scene, are just some of the responsibilities of this position.
